Stonebwoy says Twi shares some similarities with Jamaican patois during a recent interview in New York » GhBase•com™-Everything & News Now

Stonebwoy, while in the studios of Hot97 FM in the US, mentioned that Ghana’s most widely spoken language Twi shares some similarities with the popular Jaiamcan patois.

The strong Ghanaian origins in Jamaican culture were another point made by Stonebwoy. Together with his dedication and hard work, Stonebwoy’s flexibility in patois propelled him to the top of the international music scene.

Tilting the conversation to his 5th studio which he promises to be thrilling, the Ghanaian Dancehall superstar teased his fans with the mouthwatering international features he has lumped into the album.

“There are some heavy names on there. I don’t even know if I can even release it right now but I could drop it and I am going to drop it over here [in America].”

He revealed he has Reggae superstar Shaggy on the upcoming album. “Imagine Shaggy and Stonebwoy; imagine Stonebwoy and Angelique Kidjo; imagine Stonebwoy and Dexta Daps,” he enumerated. He then highlighted that the Dexta Daps collaboration will be “for the ladies.”

The fifth album from Stonebwoy will not only have commercially successful or mainstream acts. The musician who goes by the popular moniker 1Gad said he has “niche market female artistes on there” as an example because he is confident in the “product” that will come from their collaboration given their ability.

He desires something “organic,” he said, and not forced. “We have some beautiful stuff [on] there,” he touted. “Rest assured.”

The multiple award-winning Ghanaian act mentioned that the project will showcase some Amapiano and Reggae sounds.

“We have Amapiano on there. Amapiano is actually the most popular style of music out of South Africa right now which is also weaving through the world. We’re merging it with the Afrobeats proper,” the father of two noted. I put [the] Dancehall flavour and my style over it as well.

In fact, the album features one of the biggest artistes and DJs from South Africa [called] Maporisa. You’re going to get a Reggae song on there. You’re going to get beautiful songs,” he promised.
