Until their demands are honoured, teacher unions will not call off their strike, says Angel Carbornu, president of the National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT).

Angel Carbornu said that teachers’ unions had exhausted all other options and that a strike was the only remaining choice.

“We’ve gone overboard in our preparations for the strike announcement.” One by one, each of the 10 regional secretaries of the unions made clear to the administration that teachers are working in jeopardy.

Background

Four teacher unions on Monday, July 4 declared an indefinite nationwide strike over demands for the payment of Cost of Living Allowance (COLA).
